Merry Christmas

Don't you love the world of cyberspace and the digital photo? It's good for people like me...who have great and grand plans to make a nice photo Christmas card to send out...then we don't get around to taking the family photo till the Sunday before Christmas. Oops too late to get it printed and sent out to arrive by Christmas. In comes the cyberspace/digital photo world to the rescue. And, voila, here is a (personal/heartfelt)Christmas greeting from our family to you, exactly on time (well even early if you live in the Northern Hemisphere). That's if it doesn't get lost in cyberspace!

Lucas' Birthday - an update by Kirilee

Kirilee apparently gets very tired of waiting for me to update this blog, so today she calmly told me that she had done it for me - writing and all.  So here is her contribution to the blogosphere:

Recently, on the 21st of December, we celebrated Lucas' first Birthday. His first year went so quickly, the months just flew. He is a wonderful addition to the family and we all love him very, very much. We are so privileged to have him as a son and brother. What a great blessing from our Awesome Father. Below are pictures of him growing up.

The first picture that we had of Lucas. He was already gorgeous!:)
December 2011-Lucas still in hospital.
January-Already looking so much more grown up.
February- Awww...nice and comfortable on daddy.
March- At four months old, he was no longer a new born, although he was just as cute.
April- Jessica came around and took some gorgeous photos of  him.
May- Looking like a big boy:)

June- Lucas just learnt how to drink out of a cup all by himself!
July-Can you see my teeth?
August- Our adorable little Tin-tin. :)
September- He just loves chocolate biscuits...

October- Already 10 months old!

November- Playing with cars, an all time favorite.
And  to December 2012- Already making a mess of Daddy's garden...

We celebrated Lucas' Birthday at the Emu Point with some friends and family. He didn't really understand what was happening-the presents and all. But today he had a lot of fun playing with all his new toys. Here are some pictures of the big day:
Lucas on one of his new toys.
Lucas and his new toys at the beach. This boy loooves books!
The Cake - made by Mum!
The Birthday Boy...with blue icing from the cake. :)
We had a great day, and Lucas did too. We thank the Lord every day again for placing him in our family.

Just had to share this video of our little legend!

...I mean what better things could we teach our dear boy than to sneeze!
...or maybe it is just reflective of the fact that we are all (well most of us) getting over a short-lived cold
...or that one of his sisters has almost had a permanent cold throughout this past winter...

What a legend!

And please, please excuse the wobbly-baby-crawling-all-over-me videoing skills.
And please, please, please excuse my loud, overbearing, exaggerated AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH, by being understanding of the need for dramatic sound effects in order to achieve the desired response in the aforementioned legend

catchup photos...

...catching up...to way back in August when Ashlyn turned 7.

...cuddles with our little man...

...sometime in September someone got glasses...

..and then it was the October holidays.  Wow.  Already. Sometimes it feels as though life moves as fast as the posting of these photos...

Fun in the sand and "surf" at Cozy Corner.  Kirilee and her brother...

Shiana and Ashlyn brave the It's-only-October-cold water...

Lucas enjoys the sand...

The Gap... we have been so blessed with a beautiful coastline here in Albany....

Kisses for Lucas from Daddy...

Kirilee points out something to her brother at Frenchman's Bay...

Can't you tell she loves it (the kisses I mean)?...

And that's our boy... (Insert proud thankful smile!)

All caught up again (for the time being...)

Oh the wonderful things...

Ever read Dr Seuss?  Me too.  Way too many times....

Oh the wonderful things Mr Lucas can do,
He can eat chocolate cake and get dirty too..
He can put on a show as he coughs like a man...
With a eh-he-eh-he, yes he can yes he can

He can frown like a dude with his hat all askew..
He's as cool as an ice block - how about you?

Oh, the wonderful things Mr Lucas can do
He can do "no hands" like a bird in the zoo
With a ha, ha, ha and a hoo, hoo, hoo
Mr Lucas can do it, how about you?

He can clap, clap, clap as he sits on the floor
He is just so clever, do you want to know more?

He can say "uh, oh," when he copies your voice
And he likes to say it when he drops his toys...

Oh the wonderful things Mr Lucas can do
He can shake his head and nod it too
He can cuddle and snuggle
but he still won't crawl
He can eat like a horse,
but that's not all...

He can sleep through the night
when he's feeling good...
but other times he just doesn't see why he should.

Oh the wonderful things Mr Lucas can do
He can say "da da" and "ga ga goo"
He loves to play games like peek-a-boo

Mr Lucas can do it, how about you?

Reacting to Hassling

Okay, so Kirilee has been hassling me and hassling me to do some blogging. I, on the other hand, am quite sort of okay with getting rather lax and getting further and further behind. There are other things to do besides sharing stories in cyberspace, right?  However, since she dutifully went to all the effort of reducing some photos and putting them into a draft post, I guess I have no reasonable excuse not to blog.

Recently, well kind of recently... anyway, it would have been recently had I blogged within an appropriate time frame... we were blessed to have Rodney (my brother) and Anita and family visit from Canada.  It was the first time in about 8 years that we have been together as the entire family and so naturally that calls for some photos...  I claim no credit for the following 5 photos and give all due credit to my talented niece, Jessica, for them.

Dinner out our Place

We took a hike with the whole family to Point Possession - a great walk, except Lucas was feeling a bit sick and cried almost the whole way there.  Thankfully on the way back he slept the whole way - much more pleasant!

Duty done.  Hassling finished... for now.  Now it's back to reality...  Housework.. can that be tackled in cyberspace?
