Garden produce

One thing I so enjoy about living back here in Albany, is the wonderful produce from our garden.  We have been blessed with enough land to grow lots of vegetables but also many fruit trees.  The "concrete jungle" we lived in whilst in Lae, afforded little chance to grow too much!  Of course, having a "green-thumbed" husband aids in the process too!

With an overload of plums comes the usual array of plum jams, stewed plums and the like...and sometimes it's fun to do something else...

...easy  to make (or I wouldn't have tried it) and delicious to eat. The plums I used were the deep red (blood red), slightly tart, satsuma plums but I am sure it would work with other firm, fresh (slightly tart) fruit too...if you want to try it yourself, the link to the recipe can be found by clicking on the name of the cake above these pictures (in case you hadn't noticed... )

  2. Looks delicious! We moved last summer and inherited a cherry tree and pear tree, plus we have plans for a small veggie garden. Can't wait! :D
